Where Mimestream is the better fit

If every account you have is Gmail and you want Gmail's own features (labels, categories, filters) handled through the Gmail API, Mimestream is built exactly for that. It also runs on older Macs: macOS 12 and later.

Where Postage is the better fit

  • You have more than Gmail. iCloud, Fastmail, Yahoo, a work domain: all in one inbox next to Gmail.
  • You use AI agents. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and others connect to Postage's local MCP server with the accounts they already have. They read, sort and draft; you press Send.
  • You'd rather pay once. $39, updates included, no renewal.

Questions

Does Postage support Gmail labels?

Postage uses IMAP, where Gmail shows labels as folders. You can move mail between them, and agents can file mail into them.

Can I use both?

Yes. Both connect to Gmail directly, so the same mail shows up in each.
